YAMUE STORES PRIVACY NOTICE
This Privacy Notice describes how Yamue Stores ("Yamue," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you access or use our website, mobile applications, seller portals, and any services, features, or technologies offered through them. By creating an account, registering as a business, browsing our platform, purchasing products, onboarding as a vendor, or using any part of Yamue's marketplace, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Notice.
Yamue Stores operates as a multi-vendor e-commerce marketplace that connects buyers, sellers, and delivery partners. We also integrate with third-party service providers—including Stripe for payment processing and business verification—to facilitate secure transactions, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of orders. This Privacy Notice explains the categories of information we collect, the purposes for which we use that information, the circumstances under which we share it, and the rights and choices available to you regarding your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in order to operate Yamue Stores, improve our services, comply with applicable laws, and provide a secure and personalized shopping experience for buyers and sellers. The information we collect depends on how you interact with our platform.
Information You Provide to Us
We receive and store information you provide when you create a customer account, register your business as a vendor, list products, place orders, contact support, communicate with drivers or sellers, submit reviews, participate in promotions, or engage with any Yamue feature. This may include your name, address, phone number, email address, delivery instructions, payment information, and verification documents such as government-issued identification, business registration certificates, or proof of address. Vendors may be required to provide additional information as part of Stripe's identity verification and onboarding process, and Yamue receives updates regarding the status of such verification to determine whether a vendor's store or products can be published.
Automatic Information
We automatically collect and store certain types of information whenever you interact with our services. This includes device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, browsing history, search queries, product views, session duration, crash logs, and app performance data. We also use technologies such as cookies, pixels, and analytics tools to personalize your shopping experience, remember your preferences, and improve platform functionality. Delivery partners may have location tracking enabled during scheduled deliveries for the purpose of route optimization, proof of delivery, safety, and service quality.
Information from Third Parties
We receive information from third-party partners including Stripe, logistics partners, marketing affiliates, social media platforms, and external service providers. Stripe provides us with information related to payment authorizations, identity verification, fraud assessments, payout status, and dispute notifications. Logistics partners may provide delivery updates, proof-of-delivery photos, timestamps, route data, and performance metrics. Marketing partners may share insights regarding advertising engagement, campaign performance, and referral data. We may also receive demographic or interest-based information from publicly available sources, data providers, or social platforms where you choose to connect your Yamue account.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to operate Yamue Stores, provide essential marketplace functions, enable secure transactions, support vendors, protect our users, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Our primary purposes include:
Providing and Improving Our Services
We use your information to register your account, verify your identity, onboard vendors, list products, manage seller dashboards, process orders, facilitate secure payments through Stripe, calculate delivery fees, apply service charges, process tips for drivers, and issue vendor payouts. Tips received through the platform are transferred entirely to delivery partners. Vendors must successfully complete Stripe verification before their business or products are made visible to customers, and taxes applied at checkout are the responsibility of individual businesses.
Communicating with You
We use your information to communicate with you regarding your account, orders, deliveries, disputes, customer service inquiries, product questions, promotional offers, surveys, updates to policies, and important notices. Communication may occur through email, SMS, phone calls, app notifications, or WhatsApp, depending on your preferences and the nature of the message.
Personalization, Recommendations, and Advertising
We analyze your browsing behavior, purchase history, and interaction patterns to improve your experience, personalize product recommendations, customize vendor suggestions, and display relevant ads. These insights help us refine search results, improve product listings, and optimize marketplace performance for both buyers and sellers.
Fraud Prevention and Security
We use personal information to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, unauthorized transactions, money laundering, suspicious activities, and violations of our Vendor Agreement or Terms of Use. This may include automated analysis of account activity, communication patterns, and payment anomalies. Information from Stripe may be used to identify fraudulent payments, chargebacks, or account inconsistencies.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
We may process or retain personal information to comply with financial regulations, tax obligations, anti-fraud rules, identity verification standards, consumer protection laws, and law-enforcement requests. Vendor information associated with payouts, business verification, and tax reporting may be retained for legally mandated periods.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information. However, certain information must be shared with authorized third parties to properly operate the marketplace.
Transactions Involving Third Parties
When you place orders from third-party sellers on Yamue Stores, we share customer information necessary to fulfill the transaction, including delivery address, order details, and where required, phone numbers. Sellers receive only the information needed to process and deliver your order, respond to inquiries, and meet their obligations under the Vendor Agreement. When you interact with a vendor, engage in a transaction, or participate in a return, chargeback, or warranty claim, the relevant information relating to that transaction may be shared with the vendor as part of the fulfillment and dispute-resolution process.
Payment Processing and Stripe
Yamue uses Stripe for all payment processing, vendor onboarding, identity verification, and payouts. Stripe receives the information necessary to process your payments, verify your business, satisfy regulatory obligations, evaluate fraud risk, and handle refunds or disputes. We may receive information from Stripe such as verification status, fraud alerts, or transaction outcomes, and your personal information may be shared with Stripe when required for payment authorization or KYC compliance.
Delivery and Logistics Partners
To deliver your orders, we share relevant information—including pickup instructions, delivery address, contact details, and order contents—with third-party couriers, Yamue delivery partners, or independent drivers. Delivery partners may collect additional data such as GPS location, timestamps, signatures, or proof-of-delivery photos to confirm successful delivery or support dispute resolution.
Service Providers Acting on Our Behalf
We partner with companies that assist in various functions such as customer support, cloud hosting, data analytics, marketing, advertising, SMS/email communication, fraud detection, and platform optimization. These providers may access personal information only to perform their services and are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and data protection standards.
Business Transfers
If Yamue undergoes a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset sale, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity as part of the business assets. In such cases, we will ensure that the receiving party continues to respect your privacy rights under this Notice.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose personal information when required to comply with law enforcement requests, court orders, regulatory audits, tax inquiries, fraud investigations, or where disclosure is necessary to protect Yamue, our users, or the public.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Yamue uses cookies, device identifiers, analytics tools, and similar technologies to recognize you when you return to the platform, remember your preferences, track shopping activity, analyze performance, prevent fraud, support advertising, and improve overall service quality. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, although doing so may affect functionality such as cart persistence, login retention, and personalized recommendations.
5. Data Security
We use a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure servers, restricted access, multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection, and routine security assessments. Payment information is processed exclusively by Stripe using industry-standard PCI-DSS compliant environments. While we take extensive precautions, no method of electronic transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, update, delete, or export your personal information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing activities, including marketing communications. You may update account information directly within your profile settings or contact Yamue support to make specific requests. Upon account deletion, certain records may be retained for legal, financial, or regulatory purposes, particularly for verified vendors and payment-related documentation.
7. Retention of Information
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate your account, fulfill transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain records for financial reporting, and enforce our agreements. Payment and verification information associated with vendors may be stored for extended periods to satisfy regulatory retention requirements.
8. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers—including payment processors, analytics providers, and cloud infrastructure partners—may operate in jurisdictions outside your country. When personal information is transferred internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards to ensure compliance with privacy laws and protect your rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Yamue Stores is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a child has provided information without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technologies, regulatory requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify users through email, platform announcements, or other appropriate channels. Continued use of Yamue Stores after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Notice.
